Privacy policy

How we collect, use and store information, and how to ask us to correct or remove it.

Last updated: 22 August 2026

Who we are

ConveyancerCompare (conveyancercompare.com.au) is an Australian directory of licensed conveyancers and settlement agents, with tools for estimating property transaction costs. This policy explains what information we handle, where it comes from, and the choices you have.

Practitioner listing information

Directory listings are built from public government licensing registers, including the NSW Fair Trading register of licensed conveyancers, the WA DMIRS register of settlement agents, and the SA Consumer and Business Services register. From these registers we display the practitioner or company name, licence number, licence status and expiry, and the address recorded on the register.

Where a business has made contact details public (for example on its own website or business profiles), we may add a business phone number, email address or website link to the listing. Practitioners who claim their listing can also supply and edit their own details.

We publish this information so that property buyers and sellers can find licensed practitioners and verify a licence against the official register.

Information you give us

  • Enquiry and quote requests: your name, contact details and message. These are forwarded to the practitioner you chose so they can respond to you.
  • Contact form messages: your name, email address and message.
  • Listing claims, edits and reports: the name, role and contact details you provide. We record the IP address of claim and edit actions to help prevent fraudulent claims.
  • Email signups: your email address, used to send you the updates you signed up for.

How we use information

  • Operating the directory and calculator
  • Forwarding your enquiry to the practitioner you selected
  • Verifying listing claims and processing listing reports
  • Responding to messages sent through the contact form
  • Understanding how the site is used so we can improve it

We do not sell personal information.

Disclosure and service providers

Enquiries are shared with the practitioner you asked us to contact. Beyond that, information is handled by the service providers that run the site: hosting and analytics (Vercel, Google Analytics), database services (Supabase), and email delivery (Resend). These providers may store or process data outside Australia.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand site usage in aggregate. You can block analytics cookies in your browser without affecting the site.

Corrections and removal

If a listing about you or your business is inaccurate, you can claim the listing to manage it, or report an issue from the listing page itself. You can also ask us to correct or remove a listing, including the address shown from the public register, by using the contact form. When we remove a listing at the request of the person or business it relates to, we also exclude it from being recreated by future register imports.

Access and complaints

You can ask us what information we hold about you, or raise a privacy concern, through the contact form. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes to this policy

We update this page when our practices change, and the date at the top reflects the latest revision.
